Adelphi Bowmore 1997 Scotch
This refill Oloroso sherry butt was filled in 1997 at Bowmore before being bottled by Adelphi in 2023 for their 30th Anniversary, yielding just 507 bottles.
A very complex whisky with traits of leather armchair, old books, and smoked old Fashioned mixing with meaty mushrooms, juniper, venison jus, Saint Nectaire cheese, and eucalyptus. Integrated peat on this one that almost takes a secondary role to the umami-forward and savoury tones throughout.
