Port Ellen 33 Year Old Single Cask Whisky

A truly one-off single cask bottling of Port Ellen. Distilled during the year of 1983 when the distillery was later mothballed. Port Ellen whisky was a victim of a downturn in popularity of whisky in the 70’s and 80’s. As the whisky was used as a component in blended whisky, the quality of the single malt whisky produced at Port Ellen was overlooked. Thanks to Independent bottling companies buying and maturing casks over the decades, there has been the opportunity to buy it in its true form. This results as a whisky that has become the most revered of all Islay malts.
