Macallan 1985 Single Cask Whisky

A 29 year old Macallan whisky from a single sherry cask. This was bottled by Morrison & Mackay for their ‘Black Gold’ range, and for obvious reasons. This is particularly striking for its dark colour, which is 100% natural, and the fact only 192 bottles were ever produced. It is also non chill filtered therefor retaining more oils and natural fats which results in a wonderful waxy and viscous mouthfeel.

Nose: Black cherries, eucalyptus, wood smoke, leather and rich sherry.

Palate: Spiced fruits, dark chocolate, black pepper, walnuts and coal tar.

Finish: Rich and complex with an underlying smokiness.
