For much of its history most of Glen Albyn’s produce was used for other blends so its single malt bottlings are very rare. Situated in Inverness, across the river from Glen Mhor Distillery, both distilleries fell fate to the downturn in popularity in whisky and were closed for good in 1983. Glen Albyn is known for being a robust whisky. Nutty, floral, bitter and exotic fruits being the main characteristics. This Glen Albyn 26 Year Old Rare Malts Selection is a true masterpiece that allows enthusiasts to savour the legacy of this forgotten gem. Distilled in 1977 and bottled in 2003, this whisky spent 26 years maturing in oak casks, allowing it to develop a complexity and depth where orchard fruits, honey, and soft spices mingle harmoniously on the palate, while a gentle smokiness adds depth and character.
