Finn Thomson Longmorn 34 Year Old Scotch Whisky finished in an ex Pedro Ximenez Sherry cask with only 188 produced at natural cask strength 53.7%. Pretty punchy for a 34 year old whisky.

Nose : Immediate notes of fig syrup, dried dates, and dark chocolate unfold into polished oak and old leather-bound books. Beneath that, a core of rich malt, molasses, and espresso roast emerges, laced with black cherry, plum compote, and a hint of walnut oil. The PX finish brings lush sweetness, but never cloying, raisin toffee, orange peel, and pipe tobacco harmonise beautifully with Longmorn’s elegant, floral spirit.

Palate : Sumptuous and full-bodied, coating the palate with a silk texture. Waves of dark fruit syrup, toffee, and treacle tart flow into mature oak spice, dried figs, and rich malt sweetness, dark chocolate shavings, and caramelised nuts glide over a base of dried rose, tobacco leaf, and oak polish.

Finish : Enduring and contemplative. Cocoa, dried fruits, and spiced honey linger endlessly, evolving into mahogany wood, toffee apple, and a whisper of espresso crema. The final impression is of sweet oak and dark fruit.
