Ardbeg Uigeadail (pronounced “Oog-a-dal”) is a legendary Islay single malt whisky, named after the loch that supplies Ardbeg’s water. This expression is famous for its deep complexity, combining Ardbeg’s signature peaty smoke with rich sherry cask influence.
Nose:
A beautifully balanced mix of smoky, sweet, and fruity aromas. Rich sherry, dark dried fruits (raisins, figs, dates), roasted coffee, and treacle are layered with deep peat smoke, leather, and hints of sea spray.
Palate:
Full-bodied and oily, delivering waves of smoke, spice, and sweetness. Initial bursts of peat, espresso, and bitter dark chocolate lead into sweeter notes of honey, toffee, and dried fruits. A peppery spice lingers, complemented by a slightly savory, almost meaty quality.
Finish:
Long, smoky, and warming. The peat smoke lingers alongside sherried sweetness, nutmeg, anise, and a touch of salted caramel.
