Bowmore Mizunara Cask

Bowmore Mizunara Cask Whisky – 53.9% / 70cl

We are very proud to present Bomore Whisky distilled in the 1990’s and finished in incredibly rare Japanese Mizunara casks – a first for Scotch whisky.

Mizunara casks are very rare with only 100 being made every year and here we see the merging of two great distilling nations.

There is less than 2000 botlles of the Bowmore Mizunara available worldwide.

Nose: Spicy, mellow sweetness carried on a fresh ocean breeze.

Palate: Sweet vanilla, cedar wood, exotic mango and honey rose blossom.

Finish: Floral spice and fragrant smoke.

Laphroaig Tasting Notes

Laphroaig 27 Year Old – 41.7%% / 70cl

A one-off bottling from Laphroaig Distillery on the Southern shores of Islay. Released today, the Laphroaig 27 Year Old has all the richness you would expect along with the signature peat smoke and coastal freshness associated with the distillery.

Nose: Tropical fruits, peat smoke, dark chocolate, espresso and sea breeze.

Palate: Oranges, almonds, Havana cigars, salted caramel and bonfire smoke.

Finish: Generously long and sweet with bonfire smoke.

Laphroaig 25 Year Old – 48.6%% / 70cl

A older bottling from 2016 from Laphroaig. Featuring whisky matured in both first fill sherry and bourbon casks, it has been bottled at cask strength and free from chill filtration!

Nose: Rich and sweet with a back drop of iodine, hints of pepper and warm vanilla.

Palate: Green apples, pears, cinnamon and oloroso sherry give way to gentle cigar smoke.

Finish: Generously long and sweet with bonfire smoke.

Tasting three rare Macallan

Macallan 25 – One of the most sought after Whiskies in the world and only released in very small batches each year. The Macallan 25 year old has been matured in the finest Sherry casks, delivering a Whisky with great richness and character.

Nose: Extremely fruity with notes of orange zest and pear. Some hints of smoke and refined sherry.

Palate: Honey and caramel, the malted barley is quite prominent, and there is also a gentle hint of cinnamon and nutmeg spice.

Finish: Save the best for last! This is incedibly long, creamy and heavily sherried. There is even a suprising touch of smoke!

Macallan 18 – The 2017 release from Macallan, who only release small batches of their satisfyingly rich and complex 18 year old, sherry cask matured whisky every year.

Nose: Dried fruit and ginger, with a hint of citrus, vanilla and cinnamon.

Palate: Rich dried fruit, with spice, clove, orange and wood smoke.

Finish: Full and lingering, with dried fruit, sweet toffee, ginger and a hint of wood smoke.

Macallan 30 Fine Oak – A very rare Macallan that shows off the lighter and more delicate style of the whisky due to its maturation in three different types of cask.

Nose: Rich, exotic, heady and aromatic, orange.

Palate: Intense, macadamia nut and vanilla with a hint of sandalwood and black cherry.
